 Donny, whose father was a drummer, hails from Costa Mesa, California where he started playing drums at an early age. He soon co-created a group named Wildfire who became very popular in Southern California and Texas, playing such venues as the famous clubs the Golden Bear,
Finnegan's Rainbow, and the Whiskey in Hollywood along with venues in Austin and San Antonio, Texas. Donny is definitely not short of experience. He and Wildfire opened for many great groups such as
the Allman Brothers, Elvin Bishop, Santana, Lee Michaels, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Chicago, ZZ Top, and Johnny Winters.
After moving to Northern California he took a long break from music until the spring of 2005 when he just knew it was time to play again. He met Joe Pallatin and Mike Ferrand in the early summer of that year and soon Virg Liszt joined what is now the group Cotton Jack.
