 Joe ‘Virg’ Liszt began playing in the late 1970’s. First, he only played with himself, but soon found some other boys he could play with. His first band “The Spandex Cheeseheads” became one of the last Hair-Metal bands ever to leave Wisconsin. In mid 1991 Virg moved to San Francisco to join the resurgent Hippy movement then happening in Haight-Ashbury.
After gigging in the psychedelic trio “Mother McCrae’s’ Uptown Jugglers”, Virg left to start a Death-Metal band covering Crosby, Still and Nash tunes. In 1999, rather then face extradition hearings, Virg disappeared. He has recently been returning to the public spotlight with Cotton Jack.
